Doodle It Out

Levi planned a nice little picnic for us today. Complete with rice, soy sauce and pretzels. He must have known our minds needed a little retreat. It’s been a few days since we played time travel. Today the weather was more than perfect for a picnic, at least in our neck of the woods. We were literally IN the woods. And yes, I said “played time travel”. After we ate our food and laughed, I mean rolling with laughter at our Saber Toof Dragon — he was sportin huge dingle berries and couldn’t get those ugly things to dangle on off… no matter how fast he ran — we got serious. It was time to focus. We took in deep breaths and exhaled. Inhaling the good vibes, exhaling the not so good thoughts. After a couple of minutes of relaxing our minds, we went on a journey. We pictured ourselves in our travel trailer. Levi was hanging up his pictures in his room. I was in our room placing our new comforter on our bed. I was also trying to rearrange my pin-up pictures on our bedroom wall. Levi calls to Skipper to check out his room. We have good vibes. Everyone is happy. I walk into our travel trailer bathroom and try to decide what kind of curtains I want in the bathroom. After our time travel session, we started showing gratitude for what we have. We all three took turns declaring what we appreciate today and right now. After our ritual-laden picnic, Skipper got a sketch pad and doodled out what he wanted.

He doesn’t claim to be an artist, and that is not the point. His objective was to draw out a goal, a dream. Very smart man, that Skipper.

Questions:

What is a goal you are hell-bent on reaching?

Can you picture yourself already there? Have you spent time “seeing” it?

Have you thought about drawing it out and placing it where you ca see it often?

mocha latte hi – make a hiny ho

I want to apologize to my one-billion readers for not updating our blog until now. So sorry I had y’all up every day for the past 2 weeks at the butt crack of dawn. I just know that you all were lurking on our blog every chance you got to see what I would say next. Here it is:

Good Lord, I love my life! I love what’s to come! I am going to be announcing  very soon what my new business venture is. And no, I am not in a new MLM (Multi-level-marketing). I’ll just say: about a year ago I was TOTALLY prophesying my future with this little whimsy poem. I remember that it made it’s impatient way through my  tiny finger tips and on to  my ever so welcoming key pad.

“Visionary Faerie can fly in her dreams, traveling with passion to kiss a Moon beam, playing with stars bigger than her eyes, chasing comets as they shimmer by, Picking Moon Lilies to place in her hair, bare foot and dancing while twirling with air, Holding the vision of dreams in her sight, determined to turn these dreams into life.” ~ Selena Parsley
OH. HOT. DAMN. THIS. IS. MY. JAM!
There are a couple of things that stand out in particular even though the whole thing really does apply. And yes, I know fantasy is fantasy, but I am faerie damn it!

And, Stephanie thank you so kindly for my new coffee/mocha latte mug! I am loving it, girlfriend!

This Scallywag’s Simple Pleasures

Living in an RV is a WHOLE shift of thinking and way of life for sure! I do not for one second regret this decision. I do however, miss getting butt naked and sprawing out in a big arse bath tub. Not that I ever had a big ares bath tub, except for the time we lived in a historical home and we had a claw-footed antique tub. Oh, how I miss that! And my tub pillow now that I’m thinking about it! I knew that going into this RV way of life would cause us to give up some of the luxuries we use to enjoy. But it is all worth it in order to gain the bigger desires of our hearts…which makes all of these changes so worth it!

I believe that one of the secrets to attracting more of the good things into your life is to stop and acknowledge the things you do have. Without trying to sound like Oprah, showing gratitude REALLY does change your life. I believe it attracts more like things into your life. Most every religion or sect teaches this way of being.

I have taken pictures of some of my simple material pleasures here in our RV that makes this scallywag’s heart swoon with delight. I am grateful for each one of these simple treats.

Are you in the habit of showing gratitude for what you do have?

Are you in a rat race to keep up with the Joneses?

The Unplanned thoughts

I’ve never really sat down and posted a blog entry without an idea of what I would be blogging about. I think I may like this. I went for another walk today with my glass of ice tea. My walk was intentional. I needed to make another deceleration. Not in a creative form this time. It was just me talking, but more importantly, me realizing. I have power to create the life I want. And here is where religious nay-sayers who are quick to play the pharisee role would be tempted to argue. “Isn’t saying you have power to create your life playing god? What about God’s will?”  After being brainwashed by religion and the religious version of jesus, I have to admit,  that it has come to the surface of my own defiled mind time and time again. Identifying myself with the living God has done my soul some good. It’s actually done my soul some great. Some peace. Some freedom. Some boldness to ruffle feathers. The First thing the Creator told the first people was to: “Be fruitful and multiply.” Religion worshippers would like you to think that simply means – “have a squat load of kids.” Really? Creative, artistic God, you know the One with the huge imagination even bigger than John Lennon’s only meant just have kids? I’m not buying it people. To be clear, I know He did intend for there to be some love making and babies born, but there is not a doubt in my mind that the first thing He told the first people was to be fruitful and multiply – be creative, productive, make your life.

I cannot sit through a reading of the wise words of Proverbs without coming across sayings that make it very clear about two things. 1. Our words have  creative power. and 2. our words have destructive power. And because I sat down to write out a blog entry not knowing the direction this would be going, I am not prepared to list (for the nay-sayers) the passages that I am referring to. Suffice it to say, I have done my research on the subject and have read it enough to know that I’m not just seeing things.

So this brings me back to: I have the power to create my life. As a believer and a person with common sense and to set the nay-sayers at peace, I’m not looking to create a life that will harm or destroy another person. I’m not going to purposefully go against  specific moral codes to gain what I want.

The life that I am now in the creative process of making looks a little like this: Levi making hot sauce for our breakfast tacos as we plan our day. We live in our 5th wheel travel trailer. We look outside the windows of our new RV and see mountains and fall colors. We laugh at every little thing this morning since we are so ecstatic about the day ahead. Skipper reminds us that we will need to head back to the RV as he has work to finish up. I am ok with this since I can use that time to upload the pictures that I took during our adventure. Levi says he may do some painting or he may just play a video game. He hasn’t decided. We are salt and light to people where ever we go.

This is the life I am creating. If you knew how much money we had in our checking & savings right now, you would be so very concerned for our mental well-being. And I’m pretty sure for the ones who have never really gotten to know us, you’ve been concerned for a while. I encourage you to read on.

Live Creatively,

Selena, Skipper & Levi Parsley

your bland point of view can become funktaculous!

I live on Facebook, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed that, but I do. Last week, or maybe it was a week before, I noticed a status update that tickled my cotton tail. Yes, I have one of those. Moving on. The status update read along the lines of: if you don’t like your circumstances change you perspective. Short story shorter, I liked it!  A lot. So true. It got me to thinking. It got me to start seeing more clearly the pot of M&Ms placed purposefully under my stained glass rainbow.

We set out today on little backyard adventure. We are living in an RV on my parents’ property. We are hoping to start being nomadic soon, but for now, this is where we live. We took my little digi-cam for a walk with the idea of taking photos of things that may not look all that appealing with a first glance. But after taking a different look at the same object, we see something different, something striking actually.

Let the photo sharing begin…

This one is a photo I took. You can focus on this tractor seat and become critical of the rust, or…

You can clearly see that this tractor is an antique that still works! It has heard the laughter of many kids as it pulls a trailer for hay rides, etc. This is not a rusty seat, this is an antique tractor.

It’s a tree, big whoop, right? We see trees all the time. But do we REALLY see trees?

Oh, to be a bug on that tree. Looking up to see every green leaf and the color blue.

Levi took a picture of his dried up water slide.

It’s not just a dried out water slide. It’s a small piece of what will become the future swimming pond.

Skipper took some pictures too.

But what is directly behind all of this?

It was a neat adventure to take our camera around and find the gem in what may seem like an ordinary or bland point of view.

Question:

What has been your point of view lately?

(day1) write out loud

So you’ve said all the right words, maybe in a “prayer” maybe in a conversation with a friend. And now, they are starting to sound just like, well, words. Words without meaning, without emotion or power.  And when you know in your core that you are ready to take a leap of insane faith, you may find yourself wanting to make a declaration or express yourself in a different form. You want to do this just to solidify the fact that what you are about to do is out of the ordinary.  I went for a walk this afternoon to clear the monkey chatter that likes to play around in my head. I revisited our camp fire we made last nite as it’s in  a secluded spot, so I could feel comfortable thinking out loud if I needed. With no one around but my Saber Toof Dragon (our Min Pin puppy), I still didn’t have the words. That’s when I picked up my stick and made a few declarations in the ashes.

I made a few other declarations that are between God and all of His creative forces around my life, but you get the idea.

Things to question:

1. What does it mean to live creatively?

2. Do we really have the power to create the life we want?

Welcome to our new blog.

Live Creatively,

Selena
